Why we started
After years on the insurance company side, we saw how small businesses get treated: nobody explains why their premium is what it is or how to improve it, and they sit on hold because they're not a priority for their agent. You're busy, you work from your phone, and you don't want to be in the insurance business. We want to make it easy and understandable, so you can be confident you are paying the right price — a real number from people who price workers comp all day.
What makes us different
We don't have to fight with the insurance company's underwriter. We set your pricing with our own underwriters, and the insurance company approves it after its review. We make sure your premium isn't excessive. Most agents don't have this authority — they have to accept what the insurance company tells them. We fight for you.

Brad has spent his career in workers' compensation. He was chief operating officer of a workers' compensation insurance company and ran a workers' compensation consulting practice before co-founding Vesper Risk. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a licensed insurance producer.
Derek Schaff
Co-president
Derek has more than 20 years in property and casualty insurance, most recently as VP of Data Science at a workers' compensation carrier. Before that he worked in analytics at a workers' compensation rating bureau. His predictive models allow contractors to get the most reasonable insurance premiums.
